How to not get replaced by AI

if you want to stay relevant, read this

We’re all hearing it: “AI is taking over.” “AI will replace creatives.” “There’s no future for writers.”

Every time I tell people I’m a writer, that’s what people respond with.

And that made me think.

How much truth is in that?

So the question I need to ask myself is:

Will AI Replace Me?

The answer: It depends

Let me share with you a conversation I had with a bank teller recently.

Once I told him I’m a writer, he gave me the same speech as everybody else: “AI is going to replace all writers.”

I looked at him and said, “Yup maybe, but the ones who share their deepest truth — those get replaced last. Are you doing that?”

Silence.

The truth is, most of us are wearing a mask. And masks will be replaced first. Raw vulnerability will be replaced last.

That’s the thing no one talks about.

If you live from a script, try to please everyone, and play it safe, you’re replaceable.
But if you live your truth, trust your gut, and speak from the heart, AI can’t touch that.

So yes, AI will replace many people. However, authentic expression is future-proof:

  • People who don’t wear masks.

  • People who reflect on their shadows.

  • People who create art from a place of truth.

  • People who are honest with themselves & the world.

  • People who live the life they want to live, not the one their family, friends, or society told them to.

Those are the ones who will be replaced last. Because self-expression, real expression, that you can’t automate.

So yes, if:

  • your work doesn’t carry “you” in it

  • your writing sounds like everyone else

  • you create for approval, not from truth,

  • you avoid saying what you really mean

  • you follow the rules, tick the boxes, do what you’re told

You will be replaced. But if someone reads your post and says,

“That sounds exactly like you.”

That’s when you’ve built something AI can’t compete with. So yeah, use AI. Learn it. Use it to save time. But don’t let it take over your voice.

Because at the end of the day:

Masks get replaced. Authenticity doesn’t.

So what does this mean for you if you want to future-proof yourself?

  • Do work you actually like.

  • Be honest with who you are.

  • Create a life that’s true to you.

  • Share what you’re afraid to share.

  • Show up as a human, not a brand.

  • Express the hidden parts of yourself.

  • Say what you think, not what sounds good.

  • Speak from the heart, even when your head says don’t.

Because the most personal is the most universal. That’s what moves people. That’s what connects us. That’s what makes you human.

Being human is future-proof.

We’re not machines.

You’ve got skin, veins, bones, and blood. You breathe. You cry. You dream.
You’re nature. You’re soul. You’re a part of God.

The more you live from that space, the more future-proof you are.
